THE NEW SERIAL KILLER

    The first lady initiated a great initiative to save mothers and the babies to be born but sadly her efforts are going to waste despite her efforts to see the project as a success. 
    Last year a friend of mine lost her baby after she delivered in a hospital, that same year my sister's friend lost her friend and her baby during delivery in hospital. This year actually last month my other sister lost her best friend after she delivered a healthy baby boy. She was to be injected a certain drug by the doctor but apparently the doctor was not in so some nurse came and did the job, the next thing we heard, was that she was dead.  

    I always try to imagine the pain and confusion that surrounds the father of the baby and other people close to the deceased who die after producing life especially if it's due to a doctor's negligence. Are we as women supposed to go to India to give birth for safe delivery?  I recently eavesdropped on a conversation of two women. One was saying how her daughter died under a mysterious circumstance after giving birth in a renowned hospital. The woman tried following up on her daughter's death, she was warned not to pursue the matter further. The woman narrated how one of the officials in the hospital had told her that the hospital was a big company and she could not do anything. 
    This is life we are talking about here. Potential mothers should not be having second thoughts on being mothers simply because they are scared of the safety of their own lives. Something has to be done. If it is rising the doctor's pay or making sure such cases are brought to book, so be it.

TECH SHAME     It's good to be conscious of where you are going and by what means you are getting to your destination. I recently experienced an embarrassing situation due to ignorance.      I was tired, I crossed the road of this busy street, almost got ran over. I didn't want to go further so the first matatu that came along, I was in. I sat on the nearest available seat. Next to me was a man probably in his late seventies, he was the talkative type. He asked me if I was going the same destination with him, I nodded in agreement, he kept giving me this curious look, as he was about to make further inquiries, the screen was on and loud sounds emanated from the speakers, at first, this came as a relief but it wasn't. The song being played was full of obscene language and equally obscene visual images, the first time I looked at the screen I literally went blind for some minutes. I vowed to be blind throughout the journey but my old friend would not let me.

                                                             LOVE  Love.this word arouses lots of feelings in people. Back in the days love was a tradition especially in Africa. People used to love one another regardless of the circumstances. There was no need for one to love somebody from the mere fact that they knew them.
